Tinkerbell<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the 2nd Disneyland trip costumes. Tinkerbell has always been my daughter\u2019s favourite, and so she wanted to dress as Tinkerbell for the second time we went to the magical place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As she had grown out of her previous costume, she wanted a mummy-made outfit this around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used a basic child\u2019s dress pattern to style. The fabric is in two layers: a lime green cotton, with bright green sparkly organza over the top. I sewed bother layers together as one, so that the seam allowance was hidden. The hem was appliqu\u00e9d into leaf like shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pom poms were added to some green ballet pumps. Wings were bought at Disneyland. (I decided to try making wings another time!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cinderella<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another of the trip to Disneyland costumes that I made for my daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was based on the live action film of 2015. As it was for my daughter, I used the Disney pattern from Simplicity. It certainly helped to cut down designing time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had wonderful fun, collecting all of the fabrics, from the sparkly organza to the iridescent net which looked just like in the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsa Costume<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First trip to Disneyland. On one of the days my daughter wanted to be Elsa, from Frozen. It was the<\/em> film for her age group, at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsa was one if the Disney costumes that she didn\u2019t have, and she wanted a very special dress. So I got to use my skills in cosplay costuming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I made the pattern from scratch. It consists of a bodice, which I quilted to look like the ice particles; a long sleeved top made from dance wear fabric; and a satin long skirt. For the train\/cape I used two layers of organza, one with sparkly beads incorporated into it. I then appliqu\u00e9d the Elsa snowflake design onto it. This took a lot of time and patience!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
