Back in December @NostalgiaRules<\/a> advertised a Knit Along with two options to knit. Immediately, I fell in love with the 1930s design, with its puffy sleeves, longer length and all of the accessories. (I did also like the other cardigan)! So, of course I quickly signed up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choosing Yarn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was seeming a plum\/burgundy colour for this, even though the original suggested colours were blues, white and red. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After a good play with the colours, I settled on the plum, and fell in love with the brick red and, especially the petrol as the accent colour. Eventually, I decided to go with the dark grey for the main colour, instead of the plum, as I just fancied putting some dark neutral in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been really enjoying chatting with the KAL group on Instagram. It’s been so exciting to see all of the different colour ideas, and thought processes. <\/p>

The body is knitted. Pockets need to be sewn in, faux seams finished off, and crochet edges to be done, but, I’m so pleased with it so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve knitted it to the pattern size, with suggested needles, and there’s a generous amount of ease. (Probably could have adjusted the size down, but I’m intending on knitting the belt, so all will be good). In the original instructions, the body is worked flat, but I prefer doing this style in the round. I did faux seams at the sides to avoid a jog in the stripes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the sleeves, I’m going to work the striped sections in the round, one at a time to the beginning of the cuffs. Then I’ll work TAAT. I find it much simpler to work stripes in the round, one at a time!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I decided to order new buttons, as I couldn’t find the “perfect” button in my stash. Can’t wait for them to arrive, and sew them on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The buttons came, so I could finally put on the ensemble. It feels so comfortable and GLAMOROUS!!! Going to love wearing this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, I just have to do the pose on the front of the pattern! It definitely HAS to be done. (And I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s Tabora poses!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, I think the model has a golf club, but I only had my daughter’s hiking cane. Still had fun posing with it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been such an amazing KAL, and I’ve met so many wonderful people. Hope to share doing projects with everyone again. Definitely going to keep up with this KAL, see how everyone gets on.
